Welcome to Land Rover World
This May issue of LRW goes
on sale in early April and, 60 years ago
to the month, our favourite vehicle made
its first public appearance at the Amsterdam
Motorshow in 1948. The innovative new vehicle
was a sales success and, all these years
later, this status is intact. The company’s
product range is wider than it was, but
old cars per se don’t attract the
fanatical following that the Land Rover
does – that genuinely is reserved
for legends. Like every other issue, this
month’s LRW pays tribute to that fanatical
following from you, the readers, and to
the range of products that comes from Land
Rover’s factories.
Inside is everything from pristine Series
Is to the latest Discovery 3 and even the
Bowler Nemesis. You’ll find a trio
of hard-working Defenders in 90, 110 and
130in wheelbases and all modified to different
specialist applications. There are also
pristine classics and Land Rovers that are
little more than piles of parts on the workshop
floor.
As well as all this, we introduce our revamped,
comprehensive practical section, which is
full of tips about how to maintain your
Land Rover as we show you what we’ve
done to ours! One project Land Rover is
just getting underway, while another is
within weeks of a new MoT – the first
it’s had in a decade or more. Read
and enjoy.
